On Thursday, the Delhi Police said that the 16-year-old girl's murder in the Shahbad Dairy area was well-planned and that they had assembled a strong case to guarantee the accused's execution.
"This was an instance of a well-thought-out murder that was committed in retaliation. We have all the proof, and we filed the charge sheet within a month of the incident in order to bring justice to the victim's family, according to Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Dependra Pathak.
"We conducted the investigation in the Sakshi murder case with a professional and focused approach, and we quickly filed a charge sheet with the court. In order for the accused to receive the worst punishment—the death sentence—we have worked to make the case as strong as we can, he continued.
Sahil, the guy suspected of repeatedly stabbing and beating the young girl to death in a full face of the public on May 28 in the Shahbad Dairy neighborhood of northwest Delhi, has been charged by police.
According to court sources, the 640-page charge sheet was presented to a POCSO court on Tuesday in accordance with Section 12 of the POCSO (sexual harassment of a minor) and several provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
In addition to the terms of the Arms Act, the accused has also been charged with violating IPC sections 302 (murder), 354 A (sexual harassment), and 509 (word, gesture, or act designed to degrade the modesty of a lady).
A CCTV camera captured the terrible murder, and the video showed the kid stabbing the girl at least 20 times while other bystanders passed by but did nothing to save her.
She had 34 wounds on her body, and the police reported that her skull was broken.
On May 29, Sahil was taken into custody in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, the inquiry showed that Sahil and Sakshi were dating but frequently argued. On May 27, they got into a fight, and Sahil determined to get even. The next day, he savagely killed her.
