A BJP leader died in Patna after being attacked with a lathe by the Bihar police

Vijay Singh, a representative of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), allegedly died as a result of a lathi charge by the Bihar Police while participating in a protest by BJP members in Patna over the subject of teachers' postings.

JP Nadda, the national head of the BJP, denounced the lathi-charge on BJP leaders and supporters in Patna and claimed that it was the product of the state government's incompetence and outrage.

"The Grand Alliance administration is waging war on democracy in order to defend the citadel of corruption. The Bihar Chief Minister even lost his morals in order to defend the guy whose charges have been filed, Nadda tweeted.

On Thursday, the police dispersed the crowd of BJP supporters who were participating in a "Vidhan Sabha march" by using water cannons, tear gas, and lathi charges. Earlier, videos showed police dispersing the gathering with water cannons.

Samrat Chaudhary, the state head of the BJP in Bihar, referred to it as "hooliganism" and claimed that using a lathe to break up a peaceful demonstration amounted to blatant hooliganism and that the violence is hurting the people of Bihar.
