A man complains about the expensive tickets at the theatre, and PVR responds

Cinemagoers frequently encounter a problem when buying food and beverages at movie theatres because of the high prices. Due to this sad circumstance, they are unable to completely enjoy their favorite foods while watching a movie, which has a negative impact on the entire moviegoing experience. Recently, a writer had the same problem when visiting PVR Cinemas in Noida.

He complained on Twitter about the outrageous prices of snacks and beverages, in addition to movie tickets, after paying hefty charges for popcorn and a drink. He also made a comparison between the price of theatre snacks and the price of a full year's subscription to an OTT platform. As a result of his criticism, PVR has now reduced the cost of its food and drinks.

"460 yen for 55gm of cheddar popcorn, and 360 yen for 600ml of Pepsi. 820 total films at @_PVRCinemas Noida. That is nearly comparable to @PrimeVideoIN's annual subscription. It makes sense why fewer people now visit the movies. It's now too expensive to view films with the family, journalist Tridip K Mandal tweeted alongside a photo of the bill. According to the records, Mandal spent $820 on Pepsi and normal cheese popcorn.

The tweet that Mandal shared quickly gained 2.7 million views after becoming viral. Netizens also responded in a frenzy, with one writing, "Took my parents to a movie in Guwahati. I spent over a year's worth of my Hotstar Premium subscription money on meals. The difference between medium and large is only Rs. 10, which makes it more intriguing. When calorie consumption is taken into account, choosing which to go makes a significant difference in one's life, wrote another.

PVR Cinemas reduced the cost of a number of concessions ten days after Mandal's tweet. "We at PVR believe that every opinion matters and it must be respected," they stated under a photo they had uploaded. This update is for you and all Indian moviegoers #PVRHeardYou.

"Do share terms and conditions," said a third. Another commented, "Amazing. PS: I occasionally watch films on PVR just for caramel popcorn. A fifth asked, "Is this offer applicable to all PVR screens?"
