As a 21-person team from the opposition flies to Manipur, the governor visits the Churachandpur relief camp

Anusuiya Uikey, the state governor, stopped at a relief camp in Churachandpur, the epicenter of the ethnic conflicts, on Saturday as the 21-person team traveled to the violent Manipur, to show her support and solidarity with the victims.

She pleaded with the visiting Opposition delegation to help the violent Northeast regain peace and order. I beg them to do their part to help the state's tranquility be restored, she said.

"People are asking when peace will be restored in the state," the governor stated after visiting the victims of the violence housed in town relief facilities. I make a regular effort to encourage communication between members of the two groups in order to restore peace. To assist in this process, we are speaking with them as well as with all political parties.

"People who have lost family members or lost property will receive compensation from the government. I promise to do everything within my power to promote peace and the future of the Manipuri people.

When several displaced residents asked Uikey when peace would return to the state during her visit to the relief camp, Uikey responded, "The people here want to return home. In an effort to bring peace back to the state, I'm working to bring all parties together.

The opposition delegation arrived in Imphal on Saturday to visit the regions affected by the violence. The visit comes after continuous interruptions and adjournments in both chambers of Parliament as a consequence of calls from the Opposition for a discussion on the Manipur situation and a statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After arriving in Manipur, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi declared, "We want the public's desire to be heard and we are going to advocate the public demand. We are here to speak for the issues of the people of Manipur.

"We came here to see the victims of racial conflict and comprehend the issue. As soon as possible, we want the bloodshed to stop and peace to return. The events in Manipur are being seen by everyone on earth, according to Congressman Adhir Chowdhury, who spoke to news agency ANI.
