A man was seen waving a rifle and firing in the air in one footage of the commotion. Another depicted a man loading his weapon before discharging it freely. Rods were also carried by several people.

After the event, K.K. Manan, the chairman of the Delhi Bar Council, declared that no attorney could carry a weapon within or near a courthouse. He declared that a thorough investigation into the situation would be carried out, which would also look into whether the weapons were licensed. Manan continued, "Even if it was authorized, no lawyer or anyone else can fire inside a court."
Later, the Delhi Police said that officeholders and lawyers were responsible for the gunfire. The police have also started a lawsuit.
