Prior to its August 25 theatrical release, Raaj Shaandilyaa's comedy Dream Girl 2 has been steadily building a star-studded promotional campaign. The transgender character Pooja played by Ayushmann Khurrana has been spotted on the phone with hot guys in films starring Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, and most recently, Rocky.
However, the most recent advertisement for Dream Girl 2 includes none other than Chunky Panday, the real-life father of Ananya Panday, the movie's star. She is a recent addition to the Dream Girl series, whose first installment starred Ayushmann in the lead role and debuted to strong box office results in 2019.
On Saturday, Ananya shared the brand-new Dream Girl 2 promotional video on Instagram. Ananya is heard in the video whining to her father, actor Chunky Panday, about how Ayushmann's character Pooja is taking up all the attention during the movie's publicity stunts. She insists he speaks with Balaji Telefilms, the production company run by Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor.
As Ananya leaves the room, he makes a vow to speak to Balaji and acts as though he is dialing a phone. But Chunky eventually mouths the catchphrase "I'm joking" from the Housefull movie series and dials Pooja herself. He flirts with Pooja, who reminds Chunky of the movie's upcoming theatrical release.
'Pooja ka Funky Aashiq,' a reference to Chunky Panday, is the title of the promo. "Papa??," Ananya captioned the video she posted on Instagram. Really?? I mistook your voice for Balaji's.
