Batman loses to Barbie! At the box office on Monday, Barbie tops Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight

Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, sets out on an adventure in the real world in the movie. And now, it's just passed a record that has stood for 15 years, marking a significant milestone!

Barbie reportedly earned $26 million on Monday, making it a Warner Bros. movie's best-ever box office performance. This achievement surpasses the previous record of $24.6 million held by Christopher Nolan's renowned movie The Dark Knight.

Barbie's glory doesn't end there; it had the greatest 2023 opening to date, earning $362 million over the weekend.

Given the fierce competition it faced from Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, which nevertheless managed to earn $82 million, this accomplishment is all the more impressive.

Barbie is on course to maybe join the $1 billion box office club thanks to such a strong start. The voyage has now crossed $400 million globally, and there is still much more to come.
