Next year's approaching Lok Sabha and Assembly elections present a significant opportunity for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its coalition allies to make a significant impact.
As a result of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde joining the party, according to BJP state unit head Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the coalition is likely to win more than 45 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
"The BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP will run for office together in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. With mutual agreement, everything will be completed without issue. In the upcoming elections, the BJP will back and assist each of the alliance partners' candidates, according to Bawankule.
Bawankule met with representatives from the Raigad, Baramati, Shirur, Shirdi, Madha, Hatkangake, and Kolhapur Lok Sabha constituencies on Tuesday in Pune. She then spoke with the media.
However, Bawankule added, the central leadership would make the final decision. The BJP is not expected to sacrifice its position as the party in charge during the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections next year.
The three Maharashtrian leaders—BJP's Devendra Fadnavis, Sena's Eknath Shinde, and NCP's Ajit Pawar—shall decide how the coalition partners would divide the seats. Ultimately, our central leadership will decide on it later.
"The central and state ministers will travel to different parts of Maharashtra during the next two months. Additionally, 500 officeholders will contact the voters to learn about their situation and solicit feedback. Additionally, the party would enroll new voters, said Bawankule.
The 2019 elections resulted in the following party breakdown in the Assembly: BJP 105, Shiv Sena (undivided) 56, Congress 44, and NCP 53.
