In the Betul region of Madhya Pradesh, an 8-year-old kid perished on Thursday while playing with his pals in a pond that had been filled with rainwater.
Savan Kumar Pardhe was playing with his pals around lunchtime at a primary government school in the Vivekanand ward when he slipped into the pond. Due to the recent rains, the water level in the pond next to the school grounds had risen.
Savan, who became stuck in the trash, was rescued from the pond and taken to the hospital, where the staff pronounced him dead.
An investigation into the situation showed that the school management had been careless. The District Education Officer then placed Rita Satnankar and Satish Palewar on administrative leave.
