Congressman claims he is "proud" of Modi's GDP "guarantee." Next, it refers to per capita income

On Wednesday, Congress leader P Chidambaram remarked that while India's standing in terms of GDP makes us "proud," its standing in terms of GDP per capita "must make us humble and determined to grow at a faster rate."

India now has a GDP ranking of five. That's something that makes us happy, the former finance minister tweeted. India is ranked 128th in the world for per capita income. That ought to humble us and drive us to accelerate our growth.

Chidambaram's tweet came immediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a compelling case for a third term for his administration, underlining India's position in global markets and promising to elevate it to the third-largest economy in the world by accelerating growth and development.

Speaking at the opening of a top-notch conference and exhibition facility near Delhi's Pragati Maidan, Modi said that the country has been hailed as the only source of optimism in the otherwise bleak global economy.

"At the start of our first term, India had the tenth-largest economy in the world. India's economy is currently the fifth-largest in the world, according to the second term. India's name will be among the top three economies in the world by the end of my third term, I tell the nation.

India has been referred to as the shining example of a struggling global economy.

He claimed that the nation was seeing the results of his government's efforts. "India's journey towards development won't come to an end."

"India's economy will rank among the top three in the world. That is Modi's assurance, he continued. Additionally, I would want to reassure my fellow citizens that during our third term, which will begin in 2024, the nation's development will go more quickly.
