Couple sells infant in order to purchase iPhone for producing reels


Bengal West The neighbors questioned the parents about their missing 8-month-old child after learning that the child was being sold for an iPhone. The accused couple then revealed that they had sold the eight-month-old baby for money to another person.

In a horrifying incident, a couple in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district allegedly sold their 8-month-old infant to pay for a costly iPhone to indulge their fetish for creating reels.

The child has been saved by the police in the meantime. While the father Jaydev is missing, the baby's mother Sathi has been taken into custody. The struggling couple picked acquired the pricey smartphone out of the blue and traveled to various locations in West Bengal to film reels.

The couple's neighbours were made aware of the development, and they claim that they were made public. The couple's neighbours in the Panihati Gandhinagar neighbourhood grew suspicious of them as a result of their abrupt behaviour change and the disappearance of their 8-month-old baby.

The couple was then questioned by the neighbours on the whereabouts of their infant. The couple later acknowledged that they had sold the eight-month-old to a third party in exchange for cash.

The authorities in the Khardah area rescued the infant from the woman after the 'confession'. Officials from the Khardah police station have declined to disclose any information about the case until the investigation is finished.

Two kids—a son who is eight months old and a daughter who is seven—are the property of Jaydev and his wife Sathi. The infant son of the couple went missing on Saturday, and Sathi unexpectedly acquired an expensive smartphone. The couple allegedly uses drugs, according to neighbours.

Local councillor Tarak Guha stated, "Jaydev attempted to sell the daughter on Saturday night after selling the boy. Immediately after we comprehended it, we called the police. Jaydev has been detained by police.

Rahra resident Priyanka Ghosh had purchased the infant. Police not only saved the youngster but also detained Priyanka.

Police are investigating whether the youngster was sold because of poverty or for some other reason. Police are also questioning Jaydev and Sathi.

A Barrackpore Commissionerate police officer said the probe is ongoing and the case is being examined from all sides.
