The Karnataka Milk Federation's (KMF) request to increase the price of Nandini milk by Rs 3 has been approved by the Karnataka Cabinet. On July 27, the Cabinet convened and approved the idea. On August 1, the new pricing is anticipated to take effect.Â
According to Chief Minister Siddaramiah, toned milk, which previously cost Rs 39 per liter, will now cost Rs 42. He continued by saying that this pricing is less expensive than the toned milk prices in Tamil Nadu (Rs 44 per liter) and other locations, where they are often offered for between Rs 54 and Rs 56.
TheSwipeUp reports that during a meeting with the Chief Minister last week, officials from the KMF and district milk unions decided to raise the milk price. The meeting also resolved that farmers would benefit from higher prices.
