Indian youngsters to receive fresh justice through education in home tongue: Modi

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the National School Policy (NEP) 2020's usage of the mother tongue in school had started a "new form of justice" for Indian kids and described it as a "very significant step" toward social justice.

To commemorate the third anniversary of NEP 2020, PM Modi opened the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Saturday. The prime minister stated during the two-day conference's opening session that the world views India as a "nursery of new possibilities" and that many nations have urged India to establish IIT campuses in their countries.

According to Modi, education in the native tongue is launching a new form of justice for children in India. He emphasized that the biggest injustice to any student is assessing them based on their language instead of their talents. Additionally, it is a huge stride in the direction of social justice.

The education and skill curriculum books were published at the same time and were translated into 12 Indian languages by the prime minister. The NEP 2020 promotes teaching at the secondary and postsecondary levels in regional and Indian languages.

The Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) program's first installment of 630 crore rupees was also made public by the prime minister. This money will be used to upgrade 6,207 existing schools.

In order to highlight how many industrialized nations have an advantage over others due to their original tongue, Prime Minister Modi noted that most nations speak their own native tongues. "Even though India has a variety of well-established languages, they were stigmatized as being indicative of backwardness, and people who couldn't communicate in English were ignored and their abilities were overlooked. Children in rural communities continued to be disproportionately impacted as a result, he said.

"With the introduction of the National Educational Policy, India has recently started to reject this belief...I communicate in Indian even at the UN," he continued.
