Online friending by a man leads to the rape and conversion of a Ghaziabad woman


According to reports, a man used a false name to contact a Hindu woman on Facebook, raped her, and then forced her to convert to Islam. The cops have taken the accused into custody.

The woman claims that the defendant created a false name on Facebook to deceive her. Later on, after asking to meet, he raped her.

The woman, a Ghaziabad resident, stated that after that she fell pregnant but that the man-made her get an abortion. She claimed that at that point she learned the man's real name was Khalid and that he had lied about his religious affiliation.

The woman reported Khalid to the police, alleging that he had begun to put undue pressure on her to accept his religion. The woman told the police that after some time, he led her to a mosque in Nizamuddin, Delhi, where the forced conversion took place.

Khalid had posed to be a journalist, the woman added.

In response to the complaint, the police quickly opened an investigation under IPC Sections 376, 313, 323, and 509 against Khalid. He was taken into custody close to Vijay Nagar railway station.
