In a horrifying incident, a drunk man in Madhya Pradesh was seen on camera urinating on a tribal man. Given that the man is purportedly connected to the BJP, a video of the incident that has gone viral has also sparked a political controversy in the state.Â
The opposition Congress has claimed that the episode is evidence of the atrocities being performed against tribal people in Madhya Pradesh under the current administration, despite the fact that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan condemned the conduct and demanded that the man be punished under the strict National Security conduct.Â
Supposedly speaking on behalf of Sidhi BJP MLA Kedarnath Shukla, Pravesh Shukla is shown in the video smoking a cigarette and peeing on the sitting man's face, hair, and neck. Nine days after the event, the footage from the Kubri hamlet in the district has gone viral.Â
Even though a few images of Pravesh with Kedarnath Shukla and former minister and BJP MLA Rajendra Shukla from Rewa have surfaced, the party has denied any affiliation with him. Kedarnath Shukla declared, "I know him because he is from my constituency, but he is neither my representative nor a BJP worker. Additionally, Pravesh's claim to represent Kedarnath Shukla on a poster has gone viral.
According to the police, teams have been created to find Pravesh, who has been charged under the NSA, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and who is currently on the run.Â
Chief Minister Chouhan tweeted in Hindi, "A viral video from Sidhi district has come to my attention... I have ordered the administration to arrest the culprit and take the strictest possible action as well as invoke the National Security Act."
Former chief minister and leader of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Kamal Nath lashed out at the state government, saying the incident had brought shame upon the whole state.Â
"Such wicked and filthy deeds committed against a tribal group member have no place in a civilized society. According to Mr. Nath, the criminal was a member of the BJP.Â
"Madhya Pradesh is the worst state for crimes against tribal people, and this act has brought shame upon the whole state. I demand that the chief minister put an end to the atrocities committed against tribal people and make sure the perpetrator receives the worst punishment imaginable.Â
Mithilesh Shukla, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Rewa region), stated, "The video is allegedly from Kubri village. Teams have been organized to find Pravesh Shukla after a complaint was reported to the Behari police station.
"He has been charged under sections of the National Security Act, the SC/ST Act, Sections 294 (obscene act in a public place), and Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code," the source continued.Â
His uncle reported Pravesh missing to the local police in Sidhi on July 1, possibly hoping that the video would prompt harsh punishment for Pravesh. Pravesh had been missing since June 29. The uncle claims in the complaint that he believes Pravesh may commit suicide because certain people have created a phony film to accuse him of committing a crime under the SC/ST Act.
Additionally, the victim yesterday prepared an affidavit in which she claimed that the video was fabricated and shot with the intention of tarnishing Pravesh's reputation. The affidavit, which was purportedly written under duress, has not yet been presented, according to sources.
