Principal beaten after Pune school parents complain

After some parents of students complained that a CCTV was installed in the girls' restroom at a private school in Maharashtra's Pune region, the principal was allegedly assaulted by members of a right-wing group, according to police.

On social media, a video of the incident, which happened on Tuesday afternoon, quickly gained popularity. The video clip showed the principal being chased by a mob inside the Talegaon Dabhade area school while his garments were shredded. In their police complaint, the parents said the school had installed a CCTV in the lavatory used by female students, led 'prayers from the Bible', and did not grant pupils vacation days for Hindu holidays, according to Talegaon MIDC police inspector Ranjit Sawant.

He stated, "We are looking into the allegations made by the parents." Police claim that right-wing individuals assaulted the school's Christian principal after the claims were made.

The installation of a CCTV in the girl's lavatory, according to a parent, was part of an effort to introduce students to 'Christian culture'. The administrators of the school declined to comment when they were contacted about the situation.
