Rehab committees in Himachal Pradesh to ensure prompt relief operations

 


The Himachal Pradesh government has established relief and rehabilitation committees for the districts in response to the situation brought on by extensive destruction brought on by severe rains, cloudbursts, landslides, and floods. This will guarantee prompt and transparent relief activities.

The deputy commissioners of the relevant district will serve as members, secretary-cum-conveners, and departmental officers on the committees led by the ministers.

Onkar Chand Sharma, the principal secretary, has issued a notification to that effect.

Chamba committees will be led by Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, while Una and Bilaspur committees will be led by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil, respectively.

The committees for three districts are under the control of Revenue Minister Jagat Singh. He will serve as the chairman of the relief committee for Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti, two tribal districts, and Kangra, the area with the most population.

The Hamirpur relief committee's chairperson is now Agriculture Minister Chaudhary Chander Kumar, together with Education Minister Rohit Thakur of Sirmaur and Industry Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan of Shimla.

Similar to how Anirudh Singh, the minister for rural development, will preside over the Solan committee, Vikramaditya Singh, the minister for public works, is from Mandi, and Sunder Singh Thakur, the chief parliamentary secretary, is now in charge of the Kullu relief and rehabilitation committee.
