The opposition alliance may have changed its name from UPA to INDIA. Still, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this would not be enough to wash away its "sins of corruption and misgovernance".
He said the ruling coalition has been helping society and the country and has been blessed by the people while speaking to a group of 44 NDA MPs from western Uttar Pradesh, up to the Kanpur-Bundelkhand region, sources said.
Modi urged MPs to spend as much time reaching out to people and spreading a positive message about the government's activities.
At a subsequent meeting on the Parliament annex, he addressed the MPs from West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand who are members of the alliance.
The opposition alliance's "sins of corruption and misgovernance" will not be absolved by changing its name, the prime minister reportedly remarked, according to the sources.
During the current Parliament's monsoon session, Modi is anticipated to address each cluster of approximately 40 NDA MPs separately. The BJP has divided NDA MPs by area into several clusters.
On Monday, the first two meetings took place.
The gatherings were planned to celebrate the NDA's 25 years in office and develop a plan for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and J P Nadda, the head of the BJP, were among the Union ministers who spoke at the sessions.
Sources claim that key BJP officials, including Modi, highlighted the government's welfare policies and India's growth in a number of sectors during their presentations, despite the fact that there was no official declaration to that effect.
In recent speeches to NDA leaders and BJP MPs, the prime minister voiced optimism about the ruling alliance maintaining its hold on the federal government in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.
Last week, Modi mocked the opposition alliance INDIA, calling it the most aimless coalition the nation had ever seen. He also used hated names like the East India Company and the Indian Mujahideen to argue that people cannot be fooled just by using the name of the nation.
