The entire worth of gambling, horse racing, & casinos will be subject to a 28% GST

 


On Tuesday, the GST Council decided to tax internet gambling, gambling establishments, and horse racing at a rate of 28% on the full face value of the transactions. The Council has also approved the exemption of GST on the import of the cancer medicine dinutuximab and food for special medical purposes (FSMP) used in the treatment of uncommon disorders, according to West Bengal's finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya.

She told reporters in this country, "GST Council has agreed that online gaming, casinos, and horse racing will be taxed at the entry point at 28% on the entire face value of bets.

The minister announced that the GST statute would be amended to clarify that these three supplies are not actionable claims, in contrast to lotteries and wagering.

According to Maharashtra's minister of fisheries, forests, and culture, Sudhir Mungantiwar, the council has agreed to eliminate the distinction between games of skill and games of chance when it comes to online gaming.

According to Mungantiwar, a tax of 28% will be applied to the total face value of bets.

Mungantiwar added that the council had also given its approval for the creation of appellate tribunals.
