Unconfirmed: The Rock's explosive WWE comeback at SummerSlam 2023

There have been several rumors about Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson possibly making a comeback to the WWE ring at this year's SummerSlam. Roman Reigns and The Rock were expected to square off at SummerSlam 2023. A significant update has recently been made about The Rock's much-discussed comeback to WWE. 'Wrestling Observer Newsletter' writer Dave Meltzer, who carefully monitors WWE happenings, admitted that he is still unsure of The Rock's plans.

"I enquired as to whether there will be another, and they replied, 'I don't know, maybe,' so who knows? I don't know if Dwayne Johnson will return, but if he does, it will be for this event, which will draw 50,000 people to Detroit. Meltzer was reported by Marca as saying, "I don't know what he's doing again, I know there's a strike on and all, but he's always doing something.

At the age of 32, Dwayne Johnson, dubbed The Rock, left the WWE. In order to participate in a WrestleMania match against John Cena, he returned to the WWE in 2012. The Rock gave two reasons for his retirement during a question-and-answer session on Instagram three years ago. "I left the WWE in 2004 when I was 32 years old. Here's why that happened at the time. There are two reasons why I retired. One, my contract has run out, and two, and this is the most crucial, whatever deal I have with anyone anywhere. The act of shaking hands with any business or person is crucial to me and means the world to me. The Rock gave an explanation.

The Rock made multiple WWE appearances after he retired. He competed against John Cena at WrestleMania in 2012. The Rock defeated Cena that night in front of his Miami home supporters by competing in the main event of WrestleMania 28. At the very next WrestleMania, the pair squared off against one another. In their 2013 WrestleMania match, Cena came out on top.

WWE fans have eagerly anticipated The Rock's likely comeback to the ring in recent weeks. Many believed that The Rock would make his comeback in the best possible way with a match against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. Reigns and Jey Uso will square off in this year's SummerSlam's main event.
