Ajit Pawar is seen by the BJP as an option, according to Congressman Prithviraj Chavan, and they want to make him the chief minister. Here is what Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, had to say about Chavan's assertion.
Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, on Monday refuted accusations by Prithviraj Chavan, a congressman, that the chief minister of Maharashtra would be replaced.
Chavan had previously stated that Shinde would be replaced as chief minister around August 10 by Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister. Shinde has little sway outside of his native Thane region, according to Chavan, who previously stated that the BJP did not wish to run him in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.Â
Fadnavis stressed, however, that Eknath Shinde will continue to serve as chief minister and that Ajit Pawar of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) would not be promoted to that position.
According to Fadnavis, who is the head of the Mahayuti (grand alliance), "CM Eknath Shinde will remain the CM, and there will be no change."
But according to Fadnavis, Pawar is aware that he won't become chief minister because it was discussed in meetings before July 2.
Party members may occasionally express their desire for their leader to become the CM; this is normal and acceptable. The events predicted by Prithvi Baba to occur on August 10 or 12 won't actually happen, though. Only our upcoming Cabinet expansion will take place shortly, and the CM will decide on the exact date, according to Fadnavis.
Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP MLAs joined the Shiv Sena-BJP administration on July 2, which caused the party to split. Sharad Pawar, head of the NCP, was taken aback by Pawar's choice to join the Maharashtra administration.
While the other MLAs were sworn in as ministers, Ajit Pawar took the oath of office as the deputy chief minister.
Soon after, Eknath Shinde declared that his position as chief minister was unaffected by Ajit Pawar's election to the government.
