2 Kala Jathedi gang gunmen arrested in Delhi after encountering police

Police said two snipers suspected of belonging to the Kala Jathedi gang were arrested after a handgun fight in the Dhulsiras area, southwest of Delhi, on Sunday.

The defendants have been identified as Vicky (26 years old) and Narender, 24, both residents of Sonipat in Haryana. Two sophisticated pistols and five live ammunition were seized from them, they said.

After reports that two gunmen of the gang were coming to Dwarka, supposedly to remove someone, the police arrived at Dhulsiras Chowk and started checking after barricading the road, Special Commissioner of Police ( Crime) Singh Yadav said.

Traffic police stop motorbike
The police team stopped a motorbike passing through the Chawla Drainage towards Dhulsiras Chowk. When receiving the stop signal, the two runners tried to escape. Meanwhile, they fell off their motorbikes and started shooting at the police. Yadav said police returned fire and arrested the couple.

On January 30, Ashudeep and Anshuman - two gunmen from the Kala Jathedi gang - visited Ramphal Chowk in Dwarka and threatened a real estate agent with a gun to pay Rs 2 crore. They also made him talk on the phone with Kala Jathedi's associate Naresh Sethi, police said. Police then arrested Ashudeep and Anshuman.

On July 31, the real estate broker again received a call to pay Rs 2 billion from the Kala Jathedi and Naresh Sethi gangs. The three attackers, including Vicky and Narender, went to the dealership that evening and shot him. They also left behind a handwritten extortion note, police said.
