Sanjaynagara police on Monday (July 31) arrested four people in connection with a series of violent robberies in affluent areas of Bangalore.
The defendants have been identified as Harishchandra, Jasveer, Chandrabhanu, and Mintu Vishwas. They had flown in from Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Sanjayagara police seized 1.4kg of gold and diamond jewelry, worth an estimated Rs 78 lakh, during the arrest.
The Miscreants targeted Mable Louise's whereabouts during the second phase of RMV's Dollar Colony, where they fled with large amounts of gold jewelry. Inspector Guruprasad, who led the operation at Sanjayanagara Police Station, used information from CCTV footage and mobile communications to locate and arrest the perpetrators, who had fled to Andhra Pradesh and Delhi.
Non-believers have been charged in cases in several states including Delhi, Kerala, and Bengaluru.
After the four moved to Bengaluru on June 24, they bought a secondhand bicycle for Rs 22,000, however, they did not provide the necessary documents to purchase a second hand scooter. They observe Mable Louise's whereabouts at the Dollars Colony. Louise, who lived alone after her husband's death, was tracked down by thieves. They robbed the house on the night of June 28. Thieves stole 1.4 kg of gold and diamonds.
An investigation was opened by the police, with the help of CCTV images to find the thieves. Three of the perpetrators were arrested on the Kanyakumari-Agra highway, while another was arrested near Tilaknagar in Delhi.
