A minor who is raped by an agent: Opinion of the Children's Rights Commission to the Government of Delhi

The National Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights (NCPCR) on Monday sent a notice to the Delhi Chief of Staff about the rape of a minor by a Delhi officer.

A senior official from the Ministry of Women and Child Development has been arrested for repeatedly raping his friend's 14-year-old daughter (now 17) between 2020 and 2021 and getting her pregnant. The official's wife, accused of giving the survivor an abortion pill, was also arrested.

Child Rights Protection has asked the Delhi Chief of Staff to provide some reports on why details of minors were not uploaded to Bal Swaraj portal after her father passed. life because of Covid-19.

The Bal Swaraj Portal, launched by the National Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Child, is specially designed to support and care for children affected by Covid-19. The survivor is living with defendant Premoday Khakha and his family after her father's death on October 1, 2020. The Child Rights Protection Agency has requested a report explaining why authorities do not monitor the health status of minors.

The National Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Child also requires a report on why minors are out of school as of 2021.

In addition, he asked the minor's attorney to report about the rape case.

Police said the survivor, now 17, was experiencing panic attacks following the abortion. She has been open about abuse during counseling.

After he complained, police filed charges against the defendant and his wife for rape under the Protection of Children from Sex Crimes Act (POCSO).

The Child Rights Agency has ordered the chief secretary in Delhi to provide the reports within two days.
