An Indian guy is accused of murder in Singapore following a hotel scuffle


After a fight broke out in a hotel and entertainment area on Tuesday and one person was killed, a 29-year-old man of Indian descent in Singapore was charged with murder.

According to Channel News Asia, seven further males were accused of intentionally inflicting harm with a dangerous weapon, and six more were charged with rioting with lethal weapons.

According to The Straits Times, Asvain Pachan Pillai Sukumaran is suspected of killing Mohammad Isrrat Mohd Ismail on Sunday at the Concorde Hotel and Shopping Mall.

On Tuesday, Asvain appeared in court via video link. According to the report, Asvain will be executed if found guilty of murder.

If found guilty, the six men accused of rioting with a lethal weapon face a maximum 10-year prison sentence and a caning. If found guilty of intentionally inflicting harm with a hazardous weapon, the seventh person faces up to seven years in prison, a fine, a cane, or any combination of these penalties.
