De Villiers claimed that Kohli would make the ideal number 4 for India since he can maintain the innings on his YouTube channel. While batting at position four in ODIs, Kohli has accrued 1767 runs in 39 games.
"I would strongly support that. Virat, in my opinion, is the ideal No. 4, as he can maintain the order of the innings and fill any position in the middle order, according to De Villiers.
He continued by saying that he is unsure of Kohli's preference to bat at number 4, but that he will be forced to do so if the team requires him to. In ODIs, Kohli averages 55.62 while batting at position four.
"I'm not sure if he wants to take on that position. But at the end of the day, you have to put your hand up and take the initiative if the team needs you to do something or play a part, said De Villiers.
The former captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore predicted that Pakistan and India would win the 2023 Asia Cup. India has won the Asia Cup the most times, with seven victories, while Pakistan has won it twice.
The odds-on favorites to win the Asia Cup are Pakistan and India. But Sri Lanka can surprise the stronger sides, according to De Villiers.
India will play Pakistan in the tournament's opening match as they attempt to win the trophy for an unprecedented eighth time.
