Hosts India returned to the winning streak with a 5-0 win over Malaysia in the Asian Cup tie on Sunday.
City's Karthi Selvam gave India the lead late in the first half with a 15-minute volley from Harmanpreet Singh's fine pass.
Hardik Singh doubled the lead for the home team with a goal from the corner at the beginning of the third half (32 minutes), putting the Malaysians under great pressure.
After missing a corner, Harmanpreet corrected after India had another chance, with the captain scoring against Malaysia in the 42nd minute.
Gurjant Singh made it 4-0 with his volley in the 53rd minute before Jugraj Singh added another in the next minute to complete the half. As a result, three-time champions India remained undefeated in the tournament, beating China 7-2 in the first, followed by a 1-1 draw with Japan in the next.
Malaysia entered this match with two consecutive wins, a 3-1 result against Pakistan in the first match, then a 5-1 victory over China in the second round.
