Midfielder Bernardo Silva of Manchester City believes his team will adjust well without boss Pep Guardiola.
Due to recent back surgery, Guardiola will miss the team's next two Premier League games. Guardiola had been suffering from significant back discomfort for a while, which made the operation necessary. He took a plane to Barcelona to attend the urgent treatment.
Guardiola is currently in Barcelona recovering and undergoing physiotherapy after having surgery five days ago. According to Manchester City assistant manager Juanma Lillo, he is still actively involved in the team's operations while being physically absent.
Guardiola will be absent from the matches against Fulham and Sheffield United. He is anticipated to return to the sidelines, though, during the international break in September, with the opener set for September 16 against West Ham.
Guardiola's coaching responsibilities will be handled by assistant manager Juanma Lillo while he is away.
Lillo, who is currently serving as Guardiola's assistant at City for a second time, was Guardiola's assistant from 2020 to 2022 before departing to take over the Qatari club Al Sadd for a brief while.
Silva believes the team will be unaffected by Guardiola's absence, as the majority of the players are familiar with his style of play.
The 29-year-old Silva said on the club's website that while it would be nice to have his coach by our side if he were to be away for two or three months, it may have a different kind of influence.
Some players have been playing for him for seven years, while others have played for him for a little less, "but for two matches before the international break. But we are completely aware of what he and the rest of the staff expect from us.
"In order to prepare for these games, we will work in the same manner. Naturally, they'll be in contact with one another, and we'll try our best to play similarly and prevail in these matches before the manager returns.
