BRS and BJP workers clashed in Hanumakonda, leaving several people hurt

High tension was there as BJP and BRS party leaders and supporters engaged in a physical altercation as they attempted to seize Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar's MLA camp office at Balasamudram in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

The BJP leaders, led by A.Rakesh Redy, arrived at the MLA camp office as BJP state chief G.Kishan Reddy instructed party members to seize the MLC camp offices and demand that the state government provide 2 BHK houses to impoverished people.

To stop BJP members from approaching the area, a large number of police officers were stationed there. The MLC camp office's two entrances were sealed off by the police. BRS party members attacked the BJP leaders with sticks and stones when they attempted to enter the MLA camp office's premises. Several of the leaders suffered injuries during the uproar.

To disperse the mob, police officers lathi-charged party members and leaders.

Workers from the BJP held a sit-in protest on the street in opposition to the police action, under the leadership of Rakesh Reddy. Later, in an effort to calm things down, police officers forcibly detained the BJP leaders and transported them to the Subedari police station in Hanamkonda.

The district president of the BJP, Rao Padma, was detained by police earlier in the morning. While preparing to lead a rally at the MLA camp office, Padma and other BJP leaders were detained at the time.
