Bittu Bajrangi, a self-proclaimed bull defender known for his divisive remarks, was arrested in connection with the Nuh violence in Haryana that occurred during a procession organized by a Hindu.
On August 1, a first informational report (FIR) was filed against Bittu Bajrangi on a viral video where he was seen dressed in saffron with a song with lyrics Threat singing playing in the background.
One of the complainants was Deputy Superintendent of Police (ASP), Usha, who alleged that Bittu Bajrangi misbehaved with her after she tried to stop walking toward Yatra. According to the official, he also sat on the hood of his car.
Later, Bajrangi was also convicted of obstructing an official's duties. Bittu Bajrangi previously shared a slow-motion video clip of the agent walking in a saffron-colored outfit, accompanied by background music with the lyrics "Goli pe goli chalengi, baap toh baap rahega" (shoot will be done) exchange, father will remain father).
In an interview with India Today, Bittu Bajrangi, who participated in the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession attacked in Nuh, was asked about his viral video. "I just responded to the people who threatened me," he said.
THE FOUNDATION OF HARYANE
On July 31 (Monday), community violence broke out in Nuh after a mob attempted to arrest VHP's 'Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra'. Rocks were thrown and cars burned, with violence spilling over into neighboring Gurugram in recent days. Crowds killed a Muslim cleric in Gurugram, restaurants were set on fire and shops were vandalized. Six people were killed in the violence.
Arson attacks were also reported in Palwal, Manesar, Faridabad and Rewari.
Due to the current situation, a ban has been issued and the internet has been cut off in the affected counties.
According to the Haryana government, 116 people have been arrested and 90 detained in connection with the violence.
