A policewoman with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and her lover was arrested for killing her husband and then disposing of his body in the town of Bansur, Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. Police said the couple carried out the murder in Delhi and buried the body in Rajasthan to avoid suspicion.
The deceased, Sanjay Jat, lived in Delhi with his wife Poonam Jat, who was a CRPF Police Officer. Police said she had an illicit relationship with Ram Pratap, another CRPF officer from Bansur village, Bharatpur district of Rajasthan.
A few months ago, Poonam told Ram Pratap that her husband had abused her and asked Ram Pratap to come to Delhi. Therefore, he went to Delhi on July 31. Both plotted to kill Poonam's husband and kill him.
After the murder, Ram Pratap brought Sanjay's body back to his hometown, Bansur, and buried it at an estate near his residence.
Meanwhile, the victim's relatives have reported him missing to the Khoh Police Department in Rajasthan. The police opened an investigation into the case and questioned Poonam Jat, among others, for a long time. Girraj Prasad, Khoh police station officer, said, that under the pressure of the interrogation, she confessed to the crime and told the whole incident.
Based on his testimony, the police arrested Ram Pratap at his home on August 4. He provided the police with details of where and how he disposed of Sanjay's body. The police found and recovered the victim's body. He was sent for an autopsy as the investigation continued. The two suspects are currently being questioned while officials try to determine the circumstances of the murder.
