A 30-year-old man in Rajasthan reportedly made an attempt on his own life following an alleged incident where he killed his wife and son due to financial debts. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Pratap Nagar area.Â
The man, identified as Manoj Sharma, apparently mixed a poisonous substance into 'halwa' and served it to his family. Subsequently, his children began showing severe reactions to the poison, prompting him to rush the family to a hospital. Tragically, Manoj's wife, Sakshi (28), and her 5-month-old son, Atharv, did not survive the poisoning.
Manoj's 5-year-old daughter, Niya, who was also poisoned, is currently receiving medical treatment. The family resided in a rented home in Pratap Nagar. It was revealed that Manoj was burdened by a significant financial debt and was grappling with internal family conflicts.
Sakshi's brother lodged a formal complaint against Manoj, accusing him of his sister's and nephew's deaths. Interestingly, Manoj had borrowed money from Sakshi's brother in addition to his existing financial troubles.
According to authorities, Manoj had previously been employed by a delivery company but had been jobless for an extended period. He and Sakshi had faced numerous marital challenges, leading to Manoj living apart from the family for some time.
During a search of the family's residence, law enforcement discovered a diary belonging to Manoj, spanning 50 pages, which contained references to suicide. The police also found empty packets of poison in the house.
