Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa of India and former CEO of Niti Aayog credited the G20, the premier forum for international economic cooperation, for helping to promote the country's nations and cultural identity.
Amitabh Kant said India's G20 Presidency has allowed the country to showcase its diversity among nations, allowing them to showcase their products and culture.
He went on to say that 220 G20 events have been held in 60 Indian cities so far. “We have created opportunities for countries to promote their cultural programs and products,” says Kant. The G20 has created an opportunity for all countries to promote their “soft power” and cultural brands.
Kant added that all countries seized the opportunity and used it to their advantage. Kant added that the G20 has led to "urbanization", increasing India's "soft power" and enhancing the brand value of the countries.
He also spoke about his role as India's G20 Sherpa, saying that his goal is to serve the country with unlimited commitment and positivity. “I have always worked for the country with commitment and positivity. In my opinion, every official in the country should follow this and it will help the country progress,” Kant said.
Regarding India's G20 Presidency, Kant said, "When India assumed the G20 Presidency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India's role must be decisive, promoting inclusiveness and direction. action and we must be ambitious."
Amitabh Kant highlighted the challenges plaguing the global economy, saying the pandemic has exacerbated poverty and caused millions of people to lose their jobs. He also mentioned the climate change challenge that the world is facing.
Furthermore, he points out that the debt crisis is getting worse around the world, with at least 75 countries bearing the brunt. He also expressed concern about the Russia-Ukraine conflict and its lasting impact on the European economy.
While acknowledging that there are many challenges in the global landscape, Kant said he believes that every challenge presents an opportunity, as Prime Minister Modi has pointed out.
