Haryana CM on Nuh violence: Larger conspiracy at play

The chief minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, stated on Tuesday that there appears to be a broader conspiracy at work to disturb the law-and-order situation in the state, a day after violence erupted in the Nuh district.

After presiding over a high-level conference to review the current state of affairs, the CM said that the procession that was attacked on Monday was an annual yatra.

He claimed that it was obvious that there was a well-planned conspiracy behind the attack because the anti-social elements managed to stop the yatra by targeting not only the police but also members of the procession.

Five individuals, including three civilians and two Home Guards, were killed in the fighting, according to Khattar.

He added that 70 persons had already been arrested and 44 FIRs had been filed.

The Haryana Chief Minister assured that the situation is now under control and noted that 16 paramilitary companies and 30 Haryana police companies have been stationed in Nuh as a precaution. He stated that a curfew is also in effect.

An investigation into the earlier-in-the-day violence had been ordered by Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij, who was also present at the meeting that Khattar presided over.

The home minister responded to the tragedy by calling what occurred in Nuh a carefully thought-out scheme. He declared that anyone found guilty would not be spared and that state government officials have been directed to look into the entire situation.

"The violence did not happen overnight. Someone planned it with the intention of upsetting the state and national peace. Bullets were shot after the antisocial elements had gathered stone; it did not occur quickly. As a result, an investigation into this situation has been launched, and anyone found culpable will not escape punishment, according to a statement from Vij.

Vij urged political parties to avoid engaging in partisan politics in the wake of the Nuh incident, stating that peacemaking is the government's first concern. Political parties, according to him, should display moderation and aid in bringing about peace.

At least three police officers are currently being ventilated after being shot.
