Haryana's Nuh administration refuses to approve the VHP yatra scheduled for August 28

The VHP's Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra in Haryana's Nuh, which was disrupted after racial violence in July, has been denied permission by the authorities to take place on August 28.

On Tuesday evening, the Nuh district government turned down the Yatra organizers' request for authorization.

The change occurred more than a week after a Hindu "mahapanchayat" in Pondri village in Palwal resolved to resume the VHP yatra from Nalhar temple in Nuh on August 13.

Narender Bijarnia, the Nuh Superintendent of Police, acknowledged that the application for the procession's permit had been turned down.

When reached, Devender Singh, a local VHP leader, claimed there was "no need for any permission" and that he was unaware that the request had been denied.

On August 13, the 'Sarva Jatiye Mahapanchayat' agreed to resume the yatra from the Nalhar temple in Nuh and go through the Jhir and Shingar temples in the district of Firozpur Jhirka.

Six individuals lost their lives in the confrontations that broke out in Nuh on July 31 after mobs attacked the VHP procession, including two house guards and a priest. Violence was also seen in isolated incidences in Gurugram.
