This year, the instant messaging platform WhatsApp has launched many new features. The latest is the HD photo function. As the name suggests, with the launch of the new feature, WhatsApp users will be able to send HD photos to their contacts, which is one of the most anticipated features. Until now, WhatsApp compressed photos sent via the messaging platform, but with the launch of the new feature, users will be able to share photos in HD quality.
It should be noted that this feature has been officially launched but the rollout will begin soon. This means that if you can't see the HD quality option, you'll have to wait a little longer. Android and iPhone users are expected to get HD-quality photo sharing soon. After updating the push feature, users will simply go to the Play Store and update the messaging app. The company says "HD Photos" will be rolling out "globally in the next few weeks".
So with the launch of this new feature, WhatsApp users will have two options for sharing photos: Standard and HD quality. Announcing the feature's launch, WhatsApp said: "To ensure that sharing of photos on WhatsApp remains fast and reliable, standard quality will continue to be the default option for photos sent."
Furthermore, WhatsApp has confirmed that they will also bring HD video features soon. But first, let's see how to send HD-quality photos to friends and family members on WhatsApp.
Step 1: When this feature is released, you will need to update the app first through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
2nd step: Open the WhatsApp app and chat with friends to share HD photos.
Step 3: Click on the attachment option and you will find two options - Standard Photo and HD Photo.
Step 4: To send photos in HD quality, click the second option - HD Quality (2000x3000)
Step 5: Click submit and your contact will receive the photo in HD quality. WhatsApp also points out that "if you receive a photo on a low bandwidth connection, you can select each photo to keep the standard version or upgrade to HD".
