IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation is inviting applications for Out-of-the-box Thinking (OOBT) through Mathematics course, which aims to cultivate creative thinking.
The course is offered in online mode, free to all in India as well as abroad. Four independent graduate levels of courses will be easily accessible to students, professionals, and researchers.
REGISTRATION DATE
The OOBT program has four levels, each lasting 10 weeks with periodic assessments and solutions. Final exams, held in several cities in India, are supervised. Successful candidates will receive a score certificate issued by IITM Pravartak based on their performance in the exam.

Emphasizing the importance of the course, Professor V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras said, “This course is the first of its kind in India and will have a big impact in the coming days. We will see the benefits of this in the next few years. This course is offered free of charge. This course will be of great help to high school and university students, especially those who live in rural India. Thinking differently is crucial for innovation, which leads to entrepreneurship. Training young minds to think differently, in the long run, will produce creative youth for our country.

Talking about the need for such courses, Sadagopan Rajesh, Director of the Aryabhatta Institute of Mathematical Sciences, a math teacher, said: “Did you know that math solvers are currently in high demand in schools in different fields in the modern era? Mathematical thinking patterns are more valuable than exposure to mathematical thinking. While engaging in thought, surprising connections were made and that was a source of interest."
