The state administration on Friday began a "bulldozer action" in Tauru town, days after sectarian unrest left six people dead in Nuh, Haryana.
Teams of the Rapid Action Force, including the Women Police Force, demolished more than 200 illegal shanties sheltering immigrants during the four-hour-long operation, which was organized by the Haryana Urban Development Authority.
The operation, which was part of the "Remove Encroachments" campaign, was carried out, according to the specifics, at the order of Ajit Balaji Joshi, Chief Administrator of the Haryana Urban Development Authority.
Sanjeev Kumar, a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), was also there.
While this was happening, several local women made an effort to oppose the incursion drive. were, however, stopped by the forces in place.
According to sources, the authorities had knowledge of Bangladeshi migrants living there illegally.
Additionally, information regarding their participation in numerous criminal acts was gathered.
The violence that started in Nuh over an attempt to halt a Vishva Hindu Parishad march and expanded to Gurugram over the past few days claimed the lives of six persons, including two home guards and a cleric.
According to police, some unidentified individuals allegedly vandalized a store in Panipat, Haryana, which was close to the home of a man slain in the Nuh racial violence.
On Thursday night, the vandals targeted the chicken shop and also caused damage to two neighboring parked cars.
The store was not far from the residence of one of the Nuh incident victims who was a civilian. A local authority reported that police have been stationed there.
