Inauguration of new buildings in IGNOU regional centers 

 


Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on Thursday inaugurated newly constructed buildings in four regional centers - Jodhpur, Aizawl, Rajkot, and Trivandrum - in a virtual ceremony held at Shastri Bhawan.

K Sanjay Murthy, Higher Education Minister, and Sanjay Kumar, School Education Minister, Government of India were present at the inauguration event, the university said in a press release.

Murthy said that the facilities of these regional centers would enable greater dissemination of higher education to young aspirants in their respective states and commended the role of IGNOU in the three years since in policy implementation. SKIP.

He added, that Schools Education Minister Sanjay Kumar praised IGNOU for bringing quality education to the doorstep of the marginalized sections of society.

In his welcome speech, Assoc. Nageshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor, of IGNOU, emphasized the importance of embracing educational technology in the field of open and distance learning (ODL) and online education pedagogy, emphasizing its importance for IGNOU to achieve the unattainable.

He added that the regional centers in these four localities will meet the educational aspirations of disadvantaged sections, especially people living in rural areas next to SC, ST, OBC, and women.
