IndiGo pilot collapsed at Nagpur airport gate and died 


An IndiGo pilot collapsed at the gate at Nagpur airport and died while being taken to hospital. The incident happened shortly before he operated the Nagpur-Pune flight (6E135).

According to sources, the pilot was given adequate rest before the flight, as required by the directive of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

According to preliminary information, the pilot died of "sudden cardiac arrest", KIMS-Kingsway Hospital was quoted by the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency.

Aejaz Shami, a hospital spokesman, told PTI that the hospital's emergency team gave him CPR, but he was unresponsive. The pilot was declared dead in hospital.

"We are deeply saddened by the death of one of our pilots in Nagpur earlier today. He fell ill at Nagpur airport and was taken to hospital where he sadly passed away. We dedicate our thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones," the statement read. read by the airline.
