The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed a resolution calling for peace in Manipur, with NDA members enthusiastically supporting the resolution in the presence of the opposition.
As Home Minister Amit Shah concluded his speech on the motion of no confidence in the House of Commons, he asked President Om Birla to read the resolution calling for peace in Manipur.
The proposal of the Shah, who spoke extensively about the Manipur situation in Lok Sabha, was supported by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Parliament Leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said the draft resolution should be shared first and passed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
Birla then read the resolution passed by the House of Commons.
