Parliament leader Digvijaya Singh on Saturday announced that community riots will be held in Madhya Pradesh ahead of parliamentary elections as the ruling BJP knows it faces a tough challenge.
The former minister is speaking at 'Vidhik Vimarsh 2023', a gathering of lawyers here organized by Parliament's Legal and Human Rights Division.
Singh said: “The way these people cause riots in Nuh Haryana, they plan to start such riots (in MP) because the BJP knows that there is a lot of resentment towards them.
“During the last 2018 National Assembly elections, Rajya Sabha member Vivek Tankha attracted thousands of supporters to stand with the National Assembly. Then we formed the government. Once again, a large number of lawyers gathered here. Hopefully, we will form the next MP government,” he said.
Speaking at the event, National Assembly leader Kamal Nath said corruption is rampant throughout the state, from panchayats to Mantralaya (the state headquarters).
