People celebrate August 14 as "Dark Day" in Pakistani-occupied Kashmir: Report  


Ahead of Pakistan's 77th Independence Day celebrations on August 14, several political activists and youth organizations in Occupied Pakistani Kashmir (PoK) have decided to consider it a "Dark Day" to protest the brutality of the Pakistani government.

As reported by news agency ANI, police in the Muzaffarabad district of PoK also arrested and tortured several people for their allegedly anti-Pakistani social media posts.

They were also forced by the police to delete anti-Pakistani posts and post pro-base statements. PoK people protest the brutality of the Pakistani government.

In addition, people in Balochistan, a southern Pakistani province affected by violence, have also decided to consider August 14 a "dark day" and celebrate August 15 as a big day. The incident occurred as a convoy of Chinese engineers working at the port of Gwadar in Pakistan, funded by Beijing, attacked a suicide squad, the Majeed Brigade, of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

"The BLA Majeed Brigade today targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers in Gwadar. The attack is still ongoing," the separatist group said in a statement.

According to BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch, two "fidayeen" from the BLA Majeed Brigade, Naveed Baloch alias Dasht Nigor's Aslam Baloch and Maqbool Baloch alias Qasim Baloch of Geshkor Awaran, targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers. in Gwadar today. He called the attack "a self-sacrificing operation".
