The statement said Prime Minister Modi will also attend the BRICS-Africa Outreach event and the BRICS Plus Dialogue which will be held as part of the BRICS summit activities.
From South Africa, the Prime Minister will travel to Athens, Greece on August 25 at the invitation of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
“This will be my first visit to this ancient land. I am honored to be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Greece in 40 years," the prime minister said in a statement. Prime Minister Modi said that his visit to Greece could open a new chapter in the multifaceted relationship between the two countries.
“The links between our two civilizations go back more than two millennia. In modern times, our relationship has been underpinned by our shared values of democracy, the rule of law, and pluralism.
