PM Modi will remotely participate in the Chandrayaan landing program from South Africa

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually participate in the Chandrayaan-3 soft landing mission from South Africa. PM Modi is in South Africa for the 15th BRICS meeting during a three-day official visit.

According to the government sources, "Prime Minister will communicate with Isro during the Chandrayaan landing via video conferencing."

Chandrayaan-3, the third lunar mission from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), is slated to touch down on the lunar south pole at approximately 6:04 p.m. on Wednesday. It will be the first time a spacecraft has soft-landed in this area if the lander is successful in landing.

The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft is scheduled to try the soft landing, according to Isro experts who spoke on Tuesday evening. The space agency claimed that everything is operating smoothly and that all systems are being checked on a daily basis.

The ultimate decision on whether or not to land Chandrayaan-3 on Wednesday would be made dependent on the state of the lander module and the lunar environment, according to Nilesh M. Desai, Director of Isro's Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad. He added that if the weather is not favorable, the landing can be postponed until August 27.

Chandrayaan-3, which was launched on July 14 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota and entered lunar orbit on August 5, intends to investigate the moon's geology, water resources, and possibilities for future manned exploration. A lander, a rover, and a propulsion module make up the project.
