PMC receives 1,278.96 crores in property tax money on the final day

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) received 1,278.96 crores in revenue up to Wednesday night, the deadline for the property tax exemption. Due to a technical glitch on July 31, the civic authority extended the deadline to August 2.

Ajit Deshmukh, the head of PMC's property tax division, stated, "PMC got 1,278.96 crore as of Wednesday night. On the final day of last year, PMC brought in 1,145.32 crore in income. In 2022–2023, the municipal body had a revenue of 2,566.67 crore. The PMC anticipates exceeding that this year.

The civic authority was unable to issue the invoices in April due to the revised tax structure because the decision to maintain a 40% property tax discount was made in May 2023, delaying the procedure.
