Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, stated on Tuesday that the cost of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders for household use has been reduced by Rs 200 per cylinder for all consumers.
Anurag Thakur declared, "The rates of the LPG gas cylinders for household use have been reduced by Rs 200 per cylinder, for each and every user.
Beneficiaries of the government's Ujjwala Yojana will now receive a decrease of Rs 400 per cylinder, despite the fact that the cost of home LPG cylinders has been reduced by Rs 200.
Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana currently receive a subsidy of Rs 200; nonetheless, the rate reduction will also benefit them. Accordingly, the beneficiaries of the "Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana" will receive a rate reduction of Rs 400 per cylinder, according to Thakur.
The Prime Minister has constantly supported women's empowerment since 2014, according to Thakur, who also noted that 9.6 crore women have benefited from the government's PMUY. Thakur made the announcement. "Since 2014, Prime Minister Modi has made choices that support women and their empowerment. The Ujjwala Yojana helps around 9.6 crore women, he claimed.
Anurag Thakur continued by saying that the PMUY will build up 75 lakh new gas connections at no charge. He declared, "On the occasion of Onam and the eve of Raksha Bandhan, I'm happy to announce that the PM has given a big gift to the women and that 75 lakh women will get free gas connections under the Ujjwala Yojana, at no cost."
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), which was introduced in May 2016, is a significant government effort for social welfare. Its main objective is to provide economically disadvantaged women, especially those who live below the poverty line, with access to clean cooking fuel.
