The saffron-colored Vande Bharat Express, whose images were recently published by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on his visit to the Integrated Coach Factory in Chennai, would soon be introduced by the Indian Railways. He looked over the brand-new rake and declared that the semi-high-speed train's saffron color was modeled by the Indian tricolor. The Vande Bharat Express has now been seen striking the railway lines outside the ICF manufacturing facility for the first time. According to ANI, the new saffron Vande Bharat Express is now stationed at ICF, where Vande Bharat trains are made and is not yet in service.
The 28th rake of the Indian-built Vande Bharat Express will be "saffron" in color, railway officials had previously revealed. There are currently 25 Vande Bharat Express trains running in India, and two more have already been built with the iconic white and blue color. They explained, "This 28th rake's color is being altered experimentally. Originally, it was anticipated that the 28th rake would be put into service on August 15, the day of Independence.Â
Later reports, however, indicated that the new saffron train will be unveiled on August 19. There is no official word on when it will carry the first group of passengers, although it has been further delayed. The new hue of the 28th rake of the indigenous train is "inspired by the Indian Tricolour," a Union minister had claimed. He said that the Vande Bharat trains had undergone 25 improvements.
"This is a Make In India concept, meaning it was created by Indian engineers and experts. Thus, during the operation of Vande Bharat, any feedback we receive from the field units regarding the ACs, restrooms, etc. is used to improve the design, according to Vaishnaw, who made the announcement at a press conference.
"Anti climbers, or anti-climbing devices, a new safety feature on which we are working, were also reviewed today. All Vande Bharat and other trains will have these as standard equipment, he continued. It is important to remember that all states in India with rail electrification now offer semi-high-speed train system services.
On February 15, 2019, the Prime Minister signaled the start of the inaugural Vande Bharat Express, which runs between New Delhi and Varanasi. The train set, which was produced at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, is a representation of the "Make in India" movement and demonstrates India's engineering prowess.
