Troubled by the brutality of the Pakistani military, the country's ethnic minorities have now begun to demand a separate state. Taking to the streets, dozens of Pakistanis said they would push ahead with their demand for a separate state if the situation in the country did not improve.
On Friday, a large protest was organized by the Pashtuns of Pakistan, in front of the Islamabad High Court.
At the rally, Pashtun leader Manzoor Pashteen is said to have challenged the army, saying it would continue to demand a separate country.
"The rulers of Pakistan are the slaves of the army generals," Pashteen said at the rally. "The Pakistani army is also behind the Taliban that are attacking different parts of Pakistan. The atrocities against the Pashtuns must stop and the Pakistani army must stop the Taliban immediately," he said.
"If you can't manage Pakistan properly, you will face the same problems every day that will force us to demand independence," Pashteen said at Friday's rally.
Several other senior ministers, who also joined Friday's protest in Pakistan, have accused the country's military of terror attacks inside the border.
