To protect her daughter-in-law from being molested, a UP woman cuts her husband's throat

In Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a mother killed her husband to protect her daughter-in-law from being sexually assaulted. He was lying on a cot outside their home when she used an axe to cut his neck, according to the authorities.

The incident happened on August 14 while Tejender Singh, 43, was dozing off. Police stated when the investigation into his death started that it happened under "suspicious circumstances".

The family of the dead guy first asserted that unidentified individuals were responsible for the murder.

Police later discovered, though, that his wife Mithilesh Devi, 40, had actually cut his throat. According to authorities, she first kept altering her stories but eventually confessed to the crime, according to a report in the Times of India.

According to the news report, Mithilesh reported to authorities that her husband frequently beat her and compelled her to "persuade their 19-year-old daughter-in-law to sleep with him."

However, Badaun Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. OP Singh claimed that the widow killed her husband because she thought he was having an affair with the daughter-in-law.

The cops have detained the woman.
